Monthly Meow: July Pt.1

For the first time since the Monthly Meow began (and even before the re-brand!), the updates here are focused solely on my own creative career through Curious Cat Books. Don't worry, you can still learn more about what's happening with all my talented authors over on the CCB website, so be sure to subscribe to the Monthly Meow: Author Edition too if you haven't already to keep up to date.

Re-Designing the ERH Website

You may have noticed a fresh new look to the website, focusing on my upcoming release, Noah Finn & the Art of Conception, which is due for release on September 1st 2020! I decided to dedicate the home page to a beautiful ad and an easy link to pre-ordering the paperback with my favourite bookstore in the UK, Waterstones!

Prior to the re-design (more like a re-shuffle), the website was mostly one-page—I've decided to make things easier to navigate, I'd add a few extra pages to ensure everything is awarded the space it deserves, like the gallery! I love taking photos of my books and at my events, so wanted to display those photos proudly.

So, what do you think of the re-design? I'd love to hear your thoughts. Also, don't forget the ERH online store now offers signed paperbacks and merchandise, so be sure to check those out for speedy UK delivery!

Pre-Orders Are Live!

I'm thrilled to announce that you can now pre-order Noah Finn & the Art of Conception on a variety of your favourite retail platforms including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Waterstones and more in paperback and e-book formats.

Pre-orders only recently went live, so if the book isn't yet showing on your favourite store, please wait a few more days for it to appear. And if it doesn't, let me know!

Oh, and the pre-order giveaway is still open if you'd like to enter for a chance to win a signed paperback, plus some awesome swag in September! All you have to do is visit my Facebook page to like, comment and share the Noah Finn cover reveal post and you're automatically entered! Thank you to everyone who has participated so far—I can't wait to announce the winner.

Facebook Reviews - Thank You!

A shout out to those who have recently reviewed my services on Facebook - I love hearing your feedback as it lets me know I'm doing a good job and serving my community well. If you've recently worked with me or if I've helped you with a query, I'd love to hear your thoughts on how I can improve. Please consider leaving me a Facebook review.

Below recommendations are from editing (Steve Merrifield) and coaching/publishing (Tom Slack). Tom is also now signed to CCB to produce his epic fantasy novel later this year!

Noah Finn's New Cover!

I finally received a paperback copy of Noah Finn & the Art of Suicide with the new cover, and I absolutely love it. You can buy your copy on Amazon here.

The image is so powerful—I took a bunch of photos (also visible in the gallery) to show it off. I'm thrilled with how it turned out. Connects nicely to the sequel's cover too, don't you think?

Freelance Web Design

I accepted my first freelance website design job, which I'm thrilled to share with you this month. Website design has always interested me, and I love playing around to make the best out of a blank canvas.

Tyersal Cabaret Club in Tyersal, Bradford asked me to give their website a fresh design this month. I love how warm and inviting the home page is now, with an easy-to-navigate layout. I'm pleased to announce that following the Covid-19 restrictions, they are now re-opening according to government guidelines.

Go ahead and check out the website - if you're local, please do support them in any way you can. Their website is: https://www.tyersalclub.co.uk/ and you can find them on Facebook here.

Join the Waiting List

Though I am still fully booked for 2020 services and submissions, I'm pleased to announce that I am adding people to a waiting list should jobs finish sooner or I get any cancellations. If you'd like to work with me this year, please get in touch and ask about my 2020 waiting list, or get a head start on my 2021 bookings.

Low Ash Primary School

A huge thank you again to Low Ash Primary School for choosing to work with me for the fourth year in a row! Despite being unable to attend to deliver a workshop as usual, we were still able to publish the Year 6 children's short stories in a collection called 'Survival of the Fittest' which is now available to buy in paperback and e-book online!

Visit Amazon to support the school—royalties from online sales act as a voucher to contribute to next year's workshop fees. It's already selling really well, and I love the cover image the children voted for!

Event Discussions

I'm super excited to confirm I have been discussing re-booking the cancelled and postponed events with the retailers CCB has been working with over the past few years. These will hopefully include signings and meet & greet events for my new novella, plus some introductory events with the authors signed to my company. Watch this space for updates.

That's it for part one of this month's newsletter. Thanks so much for stopping by and donating a few minutes of your time to support me. Catch me again at the end of the month for extra news and photos.
