Monthly Meow: November 2020

Ah, I know I said I was going to reduce these to quarterly (which I am still doing over on the CCB website), but on here I thought hey... this year has been a bit naff, we should all stay in touch more often! So, you're getting the personal Monthly Meow well... monthly.

Despite 2020 sucking in general, there's been some amazing things going on still in my little office. One of those amazing things is NaNoWriMo, which I properly participated in this year. I know, I know... I should do it EVERY year and I'm terrible.

Read on to find out more.

Ooh, I'm so excited to tell you this. ALL my paperback books are now on sale through my online store—signed, personalised and they include a free bookmark! To get yours in time for Christmas, please visit the shop page of this website and check out what I have on offer. There are some FANTASTIC deals on bundles too, such as 3 copies of Bluetooth & the World Wide Web for just £10.

Free postage and packing is still on offer until the end of the month (30/11/2020) - this applies to UK orders under a certain weight. You don't need a code (as everything is applied automatically for you at the checkout).

In addition, my authors from CCB are also offering their books internationally in the store, so there is something for everyone.

Shipping is now available for anyone and everyone no matter what you are ordering or where you are based. Just select your country before you head to the check out.

Finally, I have just 3 copies of my hardback self-publishing guide, The Universe Doesn't Give A Sh*t About Your Book left in stock, and these are on a whopping 50% off (RRP £14.99, SALE £7.99). If you're new to the industry or want in on my top tips, head to the online store to claim yours now.

The Noah Finn 2017 editions are nearly sold out, with lots of locals opting to order signed copies of the blue cover this month. I'm shocked, because the new covers really are beautiful, but I do still have a soft spot for the old handkerchief-inspired design. ;)

A HUGE thank you to three local businesses for purchasing and sharing the book on social media - Rachael at Yorkshire Scents, Garry at Celtic Pyro (more on this below) and Jodie at Top Knot!

Just look at these beautiful Pandora-inspired bookmarks everyone! Wow, I am so impressed (I ordered one myself). I'd like to extend a thank you to Garry at Celtic Pyro for creating these, and for ordering a copy of Noah Finn and displaying the two on his Facebook page. As my Pandora fans will know, the symbols are the Awen and Infinity, both used by the Everlasts.

Garry is offering a range of personalised items, so be sure to check out his shop HERE - tell him I sent you. Bookmarks are just £5.00 each plus postage and packing to a UK address - be sure to get your order in soon as they'll make great companion gifts for any bookworms!

Order your copy of Finding Pandora today through my signed online store - it's on SALE at just £10 (RRP £15.99)! (Also available in a bundle and through your favourite retailers at full price).

Yey! David Hardcastle and I participated in NaNoWriMo this year to finish the first draft of our Bluetooth & the World Wide Web sequel, which we'll be releasing in 2021. Here's a short video as I announce the project and invite you all to join the challenge, too!

We set a smaller goal this year, given that our book is targeted at middle-grade children, and were pleased to reach 25k (which is fantastic!). We are so proud of ourselves for managing this despite the chaos of everyday life right now.

No matter what you achieved for NaNoWriMo, give yourself a pat on the back!

Oh, I do love a good unboxing video! This month, I ordered some stock of the new edition Noah Finn covers to offer on my website! If you'd like to grab a signed copy (or a bundle), be sure to head over to the store. Which of these covers is your favourite?

Thank you to the Yorkshire Christmas Market on Facebook - I'm a stall holder this year, selling signed books and merchandise through this wonderful Yorkshire-based creative space.

Every stall holder sells hand-made and unique products, and I was thrilled to be accepted as the first author to participate.

Please do join this group to shop and support these small businesses this Christmas. And thank you to anyone who has already purchased from me.

A quick thank you to author and blogger David Knight for working with me to produce his brand new website: https://www.ascensionforyou.com/!

Buy Dave's book by clicking the cover. It was designed and formatted by yours truly!

Dave and I caught up via Zoom this month for a 60-min chat. Covid-19 restrictions have forced us all indoors and away from our friends, so do take the opportunity to reach out to your contacts and share a virtual coffee. Writing is a solitary career, so if you have a podcast or a radio show, why not invite other writers to take part and discuss something other than world news? You'll feel better for it... we did! :)

Thank you to SHOP LOCAL BRADFORD on Facebook for featuring my book, Finding Pandora, and my website's Christmas bundles on their page - 14/11/2020.

This page is for all small local & independent businesses in Bradford & specifically to advertise gifting options to the Bradford community.

The aim is to encourage people to shop & support local, which is a wonderful idea.

Thank you for helping to share my work!

You may have noticed this month that my blog is becoming a bit more active! I'm so passionate about journaling for so many reasons; I've decided to use my blog as a form of 'public journal' to help other people generate some ideas for theirs. This month alone, I've recommended lots of supplies and journals I love, plus some prompts for those of us with creative careers and aspirations.

I really hope you enjoy reading the posts and find them useful. If you'd like me to write about something specific, you can get in touch through my contact form at any time.

Coming to the blog in December 2020:

- which journaling supplies would I recommend to anyone on a budget this year?

- 10 benefits to journaling

- my daily journaling routine

- 2 reviews of brilliant notebooks you may wish to add to your Christmas list!

Subscribe to receive email notifications when I update the blog every Thursday and Sunday. Plus, be the first to hear about new releases, giveaways, competitions and more.
