July 2019 Update [Pt.1]
July already? I can't believe how fast this year is moving. Time flies when you're having fun, and we've been having TONS of fun here at Curious Cat Books this month. Check out what we've been up to (because this month's update also includes the release of Moving Day by Pamela A. Pedder!).
I received word from fans that pre-ordered copies of Bluetooth & the World Wide Web started arriving on the 29th June, just one day after release! We're impressed with the delivery speed and are loving how pleased you all are with your paperbacks. Here are some photos gathered this month from our readers:
If you received a copy of Bluetooth & the World Wide Web recently at a signing or through an order, why not take a photo and e-mail it to us at email@example.com?
Moving Day Released!
Pamela A. Pedder and I are so thrilled to announce the release of Moving Day, her pre-school children's book! We're really excited to share this lovely little story with you, fully illustrated by her son, Mark Edwards. Pamela had a successful pre-launch event on Saturday 29th June 2019 at St Paul's Church, Shipley where local readers could purchase the book three days early—we sold tons of signed copies to happy readers, and were impressed by the pre-order numbers, too! Congratulations, Pam, and thank you to everyone who has supported her so far!
You can purchase your copy of Moving Day in paperback or e-book format by visiting your favourite retailer, or through the 'Books' page of this website, HERE. The book is priced at just £6.99 for paperback and only £1.99 for an e-book!
Pamela now has an Amazon page, so you can keep up to date with any new releases by subscribing to be notified via this link: HERE.
Low Ash Books Arrive!
A few months back, I worked with a local school, Low Ash, to write and publish their own story books through a creative writing workshop. These books were titled, A World of Adventure and are the first school books to be published publicly through my company! The royalties for online sales of these awesome little books will be returned to the school as a voucher for a future creative writing workshop.
On 01/07/2019, I visited the school to deliver the children's individual copies to take home to friends and family. It was nice to see the children feeling proud and pleased with their achievement, and I was thrilled to sign their books and take some photos for the school.
If you'd like to purchase a copy to support the school, you can visit Amazon or check out the 'Books' page of my website HERE.
Thank you to author JB Richards for including Bluetooth & the World Wide Web in her July newsletter! We're honoured! You can check it out [HERE].
On July 13th 2019, our tour kicked off with the first book signing for Bluetooth & the World Wide Web at WHSmith, Birstall, UK. We'd like to thank everyone who came to see us and who purchased a copy of our book (or of Moving Day by Pamela A. Pedder). We hope you enjoy them! Thank you also to the staff for hosting us, and to my mum Dawn for volunteering as our friendly bumble bee mascot!
Scroll down to watch a brilliant little clip of our dancing bee!
We're excited to say WHSmith, Birstall have some copies in stock (signed, too!) for their shelves, so if you live close by but didn't get chance to come see us, it's not too late! If you don't see it on the shelves, ask one of their friendly members of staff for assistance.
On July 14th 2019, I hosted a dress rehearsal for our wonderful volunteer mascots to try on costumes (but mostly to drink coffee and eat biscuits!).
We're all suited up and ready to go for the continuation of our tour! Catch us next at WHSmith, White Rose Shopping Centre, Leeds on July 20th 2019, where one of our lovely flight attendants from Ladybird Airlines will be greeting guests! Photos from this event will appear in Pt.2 of July's update—stay tuned!
If you're planning to attend one of our events, please feel welcome to e-mail to check in advance if a mascot will be present.
That's it for the first half of this month's update, but please check back at the end of July for more tour photographs, video and competitions!
